t the age of 13 years old I decided it would be a great idea to embark on a 3-week journey to Fiji for an organized, teen community service trip. I was abnormally calm considering I was about to travel to a foreign country alone for nearly a month. My parents nervously dropped me off at JFK, and as I was checking into the flight, asked me one more time, “are you sure you want to do this?” I turned around, all of the sudden filled with nerves, and unsteadily said “absolutely!”

Food for thought Archives - Summer 365
Well, it’s only been 3 days since I put my son on the bus for his first summer at camp but it feels like an eternity! I kept reminding myself that it’s healthy for our kids to be anxious and nervous sometimes and to be pushed out of their comfort zone, from this they learn.
One of the many staples at camp is having a decked out friendship bracelet stack. Our newest Camper of the Week, Carly Marks, always had the chicest bracelet stack and now has used her friendship bracelet making skills for her amazing jewelry business CARLYMARLY DESIGNS!
Just because summer is over doesn’t mean the fun is over too! Our resident Head Chef of the Summer 365 Canteen, Jess from Bubby’s Best, is back in the kitchen and whipping up amazing treats that are just perfect for back-to-school! Cookies and milk are one of our (and Jess’) absolute favorite camp snacks, so here are two ways to bring that summertime sweetness back into your homes – Oreo and White Chocolate Chunk Cookies & All That and a Bag of Chips Cookies! Get the recipes here.
Kings and queens and bishops too, wanna wish the best to… US!!! It’s our birthday… but darn, we wish we were celebrating at camp! That’s why we’re taking this whole week to celebrate the birth of Summer 365 the only way we know how — by doing things that remind us of camp! So, you are cordially invited to the party, and stay tuned and follow us on Facebook and Instagram for all of the birthday sweets, treats, and fun!
Our very own Head Chef, Jess AKA Bubby’s Best, is bringing you her latest camp food creation – egg in a hole! We’ve invited her to give you all a peek into her kitchen, so listen up, bring your fork and knife (or hands), and dig in!
