Campers, counselors, moms, and pretzel-lovers (so basically everyone, duh!) unite!  Meet Ali, this session’s Camper of the Week!  Ali attended a co-ed, 8-week sleep away camp for seven years, along with her two sisters.  So, we think it’s safe to say she is definitely part of a camp family!  She and her sisters grew up in Roslyn, New York, and Ali now brings her fun spirit and creative mind to Brooklyn, NY.

Besides her obvious camp obsession, we think she miiiight have a bit of a sweet-tooth.  Ali and her younger sister, Lauren, now head their home-grown, family business called Fatty Sundays!  They create gourmet chocolate-covered-pretzels, perfect for any occasion from birthdays, weddings, holidays… or even visiting day!!! OMG, count us in!  So, in honor of National Pretzel Day this Saturday, we are thrilled to introduce you to Ali, and get you in on the Fatty Sundays party!

What are your top three essentials that you packed in your trunk?

Stationary (with matching envelopes and stamps, of course!), Soffee Shorts in every color, Shower Shoes.

What are three words to describe your camp experience?

Awesome, unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime.

Who was someone at camp that you looked up to?

The Water Ski instructor, Gary. He was the best! And he always took us around the lake a few extra times.

Why do you think it is important to go to camp?

It’s the best place to be a kid, have fun 24/7 and build friendships and create memories that will last with you forever.

What is your favorite camp memory?

This is the most difficult question ever! But the Olympics were always soooo awesome. As was rest hour and cookies and milk!!

How has camp affected your adult life? Is there something you learned there that you still do today?

Does taking speedy showers count?! Nothing like a freezing cold shower when the hot water ran out.

How has camp influenced what you do/your career path?

I don’t know that I can pinpoint if camp directly influenced my career path, but I can definitely say camp helped me build my character, it helped me develop as a person and I learned a lot about myself at camp! I can imagine that this helped me as I  “grew up” professionally. Actually, I definitely confirmed my love for sweets at camp too, so maybe that guided me in a way to start my own sweets biz! :) (Our Mom never had sugary cereals or too much candy laying around the house, so we definitely enjoyed making our own bowls of cereal and milk for breakfast at camp!!)

Words of wisdom for current and future campers?

Enjoy every minute!!!!!
