As all of our campers are gearing up for their Color Wars in the next few weeks, Summer 365 is getting ready for a Color War of our own! On July 24th at 6pm, Summer 365 will be hosting a Color War themed SoulCycle Charity Ride to raise money for our GIVE SUM Scholarship Fund and Camp POWER at the West Village Location! We could not be more pumped and excited for this event!
THE RIDE
The room will be divided into two teams, RED GIVE and BLUE SUM. The teams will compete in various SoulCycle activities like who taps it back better, who pushes it up harder, and who’s team is cheering louder! We’ll all be battling it out while sporting some awesome Color War tshirts, that are free with a purchased bike! I mean, who doesn’t love Color War tshirts?!
Our instructor, Zack Held, is a former camper himself, and is so thrilled to be leading us on this amazing ride! He is already gearing up an awesome summer-inspired playlist for us to rock out to… so bring your dancing camp spirit!
We are also so grateful for Liquiteria and Baked by Melissa, who are so generously donating juices and cupcakes, respectively, to our charity ride! What amazing treats these will be after sweating it out on the bike.
We are SO excited to spread our camp spirit and share the gift of camp with the kids of CAMP POWER! There are limited seats left, so if showing your best Color War spirit and sweating for a good cause sound like something you’re into… you’re with the right crowd. Get your game faces on, it’s SOULCYCLE COLOR WAR TIME!
All proceeds from the ride will be donated to Camp POWER 2014!!
GIVE SUM
At Summer 365 we believe that every child deserves the gift of summer camp. For those who aren’t familiar with GIVE SUM, it is our special scholarship fund for families who would otherwise not be able to afford to send their children to camp. For every child that we help place in one of our recommended camps or programs, in turn we will donate a portion of each commission we receive into GIVE SUM.
CAMP POWER
Country Roads Foundation (CRF) is the inspiring charity that we are extremely proud to support for our ride! CRF is a volunteer-based, nonprofit organization that donates 100% of its proceeds and efforts to Camp POWER — a one-week, residential camp impacting the lives of hundreds of children growing up in three of America’s most impoverished neighborhoods — East New York, Bedford-Stuyvesant, & Red Hook Brooklyn.
Built on the belief that children of turbulent neighborhoods are often forced to grow up too fast, CRF and Camp POWER’s supportive and accepting community allows them to be just who they are — kids! In just five years, CRF has provided over 1,000 boys & girls with this life changing program and allowing kids to experience the gift of camp.
