I am sitting here today and can’t believe how much I miss you. It hurts a little bit. Maybe because in one year at camp you grew up so fast – or because I know you will be so much more grown up when you get back in August….
I’m not going to lie, I started hearing murmurs of other camp families getting their first letter yesterday and then I was consumed with the thought of mine. When was I going to hear from my new camper? Is he happy? Does he like his bunk? Then it all pays off… I have turned all my energy to total jealousy! What I would do to be in his shoes again.
Well, it’s only been 3 days since I put my son on the bus for his first summer at camp but it feels like an eternity! I kept reminding myself that it’s healthy for our kids to be anxious and nervous sometimes and to be pushed out of their comfort zone, from this they learn.
